This course serves to give you an overview of health and safety management in the context of Facilities Management.

Courses are held in Leeds and Manchester.
You’ll start by considering the various legal requirements for health and safety management, before moving on to examine the personal responsibilities of a facilities manager under health and safety legislation.
You will learn about the health and safety policy and consider how to effectively communicate health and safety information to clients, customers and building users.
You’ll then learn about risk assessments, how to conduct them and finally how to monitor and review health and safety policies, procedures and systems.
This course is aimed at people already managing day-to-day Facilities Management operations, who want to develop a deeper understanding of their obligations under health and safety legislation, as well as how to improve the health and safety culture and processes within their own organisation.
If you need to know more about your obligations and, crucially, your liabilities under health and safety law, or if you want to increase awareness and compliance with health and safety in your workplace, this course is for you.
It’s also ideal for those who are studying for their IWFM Level 4 qualifications, perhaps by distance learning, who would like some face-to-face tuition to support their studies.
Although this course is open for anyone to attend and is not assessed, the content has been developed in line with the IWFM Level 4 unit FM4.05 – Managing Health and Safety in own area of facilities management.
This makes it ideal for IWFM qualification learners who are looking to support their studies with face-to-face tuition.
For those who are not currently studying for a qualification, there is the option to undertake the assessment for the FM4.05 unit. This will then count towards a qualification if you choose to undertake one in the future.
