This course considers in detail how the Facilities Management strategy should be aligned with the overall business strategy and the drivers and considerations for setting both.

Courses are held in Leeds and Manchester.
You will learn the key elements of a Facilities Management strategy and why it is so important for effective FM delivery.
You’ll also look at overall business strategy, considering vision and mission statements, goals and objectives and their importance.
You’ll go on to consider the relationship between the overall business strategy and the FM strategy and how they interact and complement each other.
You’ll learn about risk profiles and how they influence the FM strategy before looking at some of the principles and tools for monitoring strategic success.
Finally, you’ll examine how monitoring the strategy can result in strategic changes.
This course is aimed at people already managing day-to-day Facilities Management operations, who want to develop an understanding of FM at a higher, strategic level.
It’s great for aspiring managers with existing, practical FM skills who want to take a more strategic approach to their work and better understand how Facilities Management can support the goals of their organisation.
It’s also ideal for those who are studying for their IWFM Level 4 qualifications, perhaps by distance learning, who would like some face-to-face tuition to support their studies.
Although this course is open for anyone to attend and is not assessed, the content has been developed in line with the IWFM Level 4 unit FM4.02 – FM Strategy.
This makes it ideal for IWFM qualification learners who are looking to support their studies with face-to-face tuition.
For those who are not currently studying for a qualification, there is the option to undertake the assessment for the FM4.02 unit. This will then count towards a qualification if you choose to undertake one in the future.
