Space is generally defined as the physical spaces a business occupies. This may be office space, factory warehousing, classrooms, hospital wards, and so on. Several organisations will have a mixture of space types, so we need to think about how best to use the different spaces that we have.

Space is the second most expensive cost to an organisation after staff salaries, and so it’s critical that this is managed well.
