Property and Asset maintenance is a fundamental part of Facilities Management – in fact, it’s often the first thing people think of when asked what FM is all about. Of course, we know there’s much more to FM than maintenance, but there’s no getting away from the fact that it is a key element to the FM role. Even if you work exclusively in soft services, you’re likely to need to liaise and work with your hard services counterpart. So it pays to know what its all about.
As a facilities manager, you need to go beyond the basics of picking up a spanner and a hammer and start thinking more strategically about maintenance. That’s what this course is all about.
About this course
We’ll be exploring the different maintenance strategies available to you as a facilities manager, including different forms of reactive and preventative maintenance and the context in which you would use them. When you’re done, you’ll know how to think about maintenance on a more strategic level and you’ll know exactly what the difference is between periodic, planned preventative, condition-based, corrective and emergency maintenance.
This course provides a foundation for facilities managers when it comes to property and asset maintenance and will set you up to start implementing your own strategies, understanding your organisation’s maintenance needs and learning more about how and when to implement each option.
