In order to continually improve the effectiveness of our FM department, we need to be regularly reviewing the factors that can affect our organisation and the services we offer. Some of these factors are internal to the business, but we also need to be aware of the external factors that can impact our operations – factors which may be outside of our control but that we need to take account of when making strategic and tactical decisions.

The PESTLE analysis is a strategic tool that allows us to do exactly that.

About this course

This course will consider what the acronym PESTLE stands for and how each of these factors can impact our organisation. We will also consider some examples from each of the six categories, and finally, we will consider how to undertake a PESTLE analysis by looking at an example applied to an activity which may need to be undertaken within the FM department.
